The GDT
About us
The Rio de Janeiro Tax Debate Group (“GDT”) was created in June 2003, stemming from periodic meetings of friends to discuss tax-related topics, attracting interested parties who make up its current membership of over 2,400.
GDT is a non-profit civil association whose primary objective is to study the phenomenon of taxation in its various aspects, with the participation of academics, lawyers, tax auditors, accountants, magistrates, representatives of the Public Treasury, among others.
Within its remit, the GDT acts, for example:
(i) in holding monthly face-to-face debate meetings with its members to discuss legislative changes and important judgments issued in all spheres of the Judiciary and administrative adjudicating bodies;
(ii) in the coordination and launch of publications with the participation of its members and guests;
(iii) in the organization and holding of congresses, seminars, courses and lectures, with the participation of members of national and international educational institutions;
(iv) in disseminating news relevant to the topic of taxation on their social networks;
(v) in promoting courses, events and publications from partners;
(vi) in creating a broad network of exchanges of academic and professional opportunities for its members.
